America's Obesity Problem Is It Due To The Tv?

This is really crazy but my research has demonstrated that the TV is probably one of the biggest reasons for obesity in this country today, especially in children but also in many adults.

In the survey we carried out we found that on average only one family in ten sit down to a family meal every single day and more than 40% of Americans never sit at a table to eat.

Can you imagine why? Well It's the TV. Let me explain to you more what I mean with a couple of typical examples of what I call TV food syndrome.

1. You sit your toddler in front of the TV and then bring them food to eat while they watch cartoons. The problem being with this is nine times out of ten you will give your kid finger food so they can eat whilst distracted by the TV without making too much mess. So a meal will typically consists of some thing like peanut butter or jelly sandwiches or if it's cooked food it will be chicken nuggets , fries , burgers and the like.

This is great food for you to prepare as it takes minutes and no effort, but it's lousy food for your child it's packed full of fats, carbs, salt and other hamful chemicals and chemical additives all bad for your childs health now and in the future.

More often than not this will be accompanied by a drink of chemical and sugar filled soda and cookies or some form of candy all full of carbs and unhealthy fats. If you are doing this for your kids you need to STOP IMMEDIATELY! Before you damage your kids health for good.

2. This happens across the US almost every day also. You get home from a busy day (possibly stressed and unrelaxed). You don't feel like cooking so you decide to grab a meal from the freezer and put it in the microwave or call out for a takeaway. Normally you'll end up eating this in front of the TV on your lap. This means you focus is on your favorite programs hardly even noticing what you are put in your mouth.

I am guessing but you won't know if the food tasted good or probably what it tasted like at all as you will be so engrossed in your TV program.

Why not try this as an alternative strategy get your children and ideally the whole family to sit at the table in a room without TV. Now do something really radical cook food that not only looks good and tastes good but sit down as a family and eat together.

Pay more attention to the food you are cooking make sure it looks good and tastes even better. Don't just put food in your mouth which has no flavor or taste or has been packed full of harmful fats and flavorings.You'll all benefit it will help everyones diet and long term health and prevent obesity.
