My Personal Review Of LifeLock By Robert Gantt

Identity theft is a term we all hear a lot these days. And if you're like me, it's probably not something you've spent a whole lot of time thinking about. Keeping your credit rating high can be a difficult thing; it's something we should all think about a little more than we do.

It wasn't until a close friend of mind had her identity stolen that I saw how insidious a thing identity theft can be. Her whole world had turned upside down. It took over a year of nothing but hassle, after hassle, after hassle to get her life back together.

Just imagine how stressful this must be. You are at risk of losing everything if you become a victim of identity theft: and most don't realize they are a victim until it is too late.

It was about this time that I heard my first advertisement for LifeLock, The identity protection company. What got my attention was that the ceo of the company came on the radio ad and actually gave out his social security number on the air.

I think you'd agree that's either supreme confidence or complete lunacy.

I was intrigued. I decided I needed to find out which.

According to the website if your Identity is stolen while you are a member of LifeLock, LifeLock is going to do whatever it takes to recover your good name. If you need lawyers, they are going to hire the best they can find. If you need investigators, accountants, case managers, whatever, they're yours. If you lose money as a result of the theft, they guarantee to give it back to you.

If your identity falls prey to thieves, LifeLock will do whatever is necessary to put things to rights for you. They'll pay for legal assistance, investigations, whatever you need to fix the problem. The company will even reimburse you for money lost due to identity theft. LifeLock will pay any and all costs up to one million in the cause of recovering your losses from identity theft, quite a guarantee by anyone's standards.

When I found out it was only $10.00/month I was sold. Once I enrolled I immediately felt peace of mind. LifeLock sent me an email stating that fraud alerts have been requested on my behalf. I didn't even know what a fraud alert was.

It turns out they're pretty cool. Once they're established with the major credit bureaus, creditors are required to verify your identity before opening any new lines of credit, issuing new cards or increasing your credit limit.

Fraud alerts can be a real life saver. Creditors have to verify your identity before doing anything that would affect your credit for instance, issue a card in your name.

Any time anyone tries to do anything that affects my credit I get a phone call asking me to verify the transaction. Believe me, that gives you peace of mind. Between my wife and I, we would sometimes spend hours shredding personal documents. With LifeLock, those days are over.
