This medium is excellent for commuters as well as those with reading disabilities or impaired vision, and some simply like being able to listen to text without having to read it. Although books have been traditionally sold on audio tape, technology is changing the way they can be distributed.

Finding audible books has become extremely simple for anyone with basic computer skills. Multiple sites offer these books, even some for free. The quick route for an absolute beginner is to insert the phrase "audible books" into the search window of whichever search engine you prefer to use. This will produce a plethora of sites offering audio books to download and will walk you through the process. To download, you do not need a portable audio player since you can usually stream the content on your PC or burn it on a CD to play later.
