Who says one must learn to read and write before he or she can acquire knowledge; with audio books this is no longer compulsory. Audio books are so useful in today's world also because of the great help they are to people who want to read novels for entertainment sake but couldn't spend the time reading.

Since "listening" to an audio book one can still get the information contained therein as they would get if they "read" it, many would these days buy an audio book format of their favourite book, rather than the physical book format. One can conveniently say it's because of the ease and comfort of audio book format that is why more book titles now also have the audio book format as well as the physical book format.

Many will agree what a great time saver it would be to "listen" to a book rather than "read" it, especially when one "listens" while driving a car or truck. Knowledge acquisition is now possible for lots of people who don't have time to read... thanks to audio books.

It's not surprising that many people -- children, adults and the oldies -- now prefer to listen to audio books rather than read. Audio books are much more cost effective in terms of production than other paperbacks and hardcover books; this is a big extra advantage audio books have.

With audio books, nature can be conserved as more trees will be saved as against hardcover and paperbacks that lead to lots of trees being cut down and used. Another very important advantage of audio book is the fact that people who are always doing household chores can still do them while listening to audio books.

The benefit that some people say they like best with audio books is that they can listen to the content even while it's dark, unlike normal books that can only be read during the day or when there's light.
