The FDA approved the use of the birth control pill back in the 1960's for the purpose of preventing women from becoming pregnant. The choice to take the birth control pill will require continuous monitoring of any hair loss just in case the need for an alternative is warranted. It is always a possibility that there may be a more effective form of birth control that doesn't allow for hair loss.
