When searching for an outboard motor, there are many qualities to take into consideration. Ideally, we want to find the best choice, and get the best deal for our money. We make plans to do many things while on vacation, but we know that we will be mellow, hanging out in the middle of the lake to fish, and just spending time with the kids. To "keep up with the Jones", order a custom rig with all the bells and whistles. The most intelligent buy that you can do in the future is to buy things which is topmost of your priorities for the different trips that you are planning to embark and also consider which are the things that you are more than willing to sacrifice. A great variety of moderately priced outboard motots are available to consumers.

Honda automobiles are renowned for their reliability, so the revelation that they build top of the line boat motors should be surprise. Both their Accord sedan and their BF115 Honda boat motors are well-reputed, refined, and reliable. The motor was adapted from the 2.3-liter four-cylinder Accord and weighs 496 pounds, which is heavier than other 115s, so if your boat has a lighter, shorter hull, then you may want to consider a different option. When compared to Evinrude, Yamaha, Mercury, and Suzuki boat motors, Honda outperforms them all in quietness and fuel consumption. Some outboard boat motors idle at 81 decibles, WOT at 121 and cruise at 106, amazingly the best are 76/106/104. Fuel consumption is 0.2 gallons per hour at 625rpm, 4.1 at 3500rpm and 9.0 at 5600rpm, while the other outboards perform at 0.3 - 16.0!

The Yamaha F115 has a lot in common with the Honda outboard motors, although it's 89 pounds lighter and more compact. The acceleration is a tad slower and a few decibels louder, but just as energy efficient. In addition to double overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder.
The sophisticated four-stroke engine comes equipped with a computerized, multiport fuel injection system and separate throttle valves for each intake runner.
Costing nearly $1400 less than their identical Honda counterparts, the Yamaha outboard motor becomes one of the best deals around.

For a fair price, the Suzuki outbourds are compact and efficient. These 1.77-liter outboards are closely related to the two-stroke Evinrude or Mercury, resulting in parallel performance and noise levels. It weighs less than the Mercury outboard motor, but it's only a tad heavier than the less-weighty Evinrude. With well-designed six-quart oil tanks hidden beneath the engine cowling, the Suzuki outboards prevent spills more often than the Mercury, according to statistics. When you purchase the base package, you get to choose a stainless steel prop as a bonus. Selling at only $8934, the base package is $1000 - $2000 less than the competition. With Suzuki burning twice as much gas as the Evinrude, fuel consumption becomes the biggest drawback in selecting an outboard motor.

Avid boaters are often concerned about the environment. They wish to keep the lakes pollution free for future generations. Therefore, some people are looking to align themselves with innovative companies who are leaders in energy efficiency, since that is the natural trend. One such example is Yamaha, a company which has teamed up with ABB Robotic Technology to utilize improved painting quality to yield energy savings. Yamaha has implemented a method of painting its outboard motors that is 30% more energy-efficient than the competition, lowering the time it takes to dry the paint by 40%, increasing efficiency with robots, reducing dust pollution, recirculating air and wasting no paint in the process.
