Do you love smoothies? Even if you do, there's a fair chance you haven't heard about green smoothies yet. If that's true, you are really in for a treat. These things are so good, you might even be able to get your whole family eating healthier green veggies.

If you haven't had a green smoothie before, you may be wondering what the heck it is. Well, there's no precise answer since there are lots of different recipes available. To put it simply, green smoothies are fruit smoothies that have leafy vegetables mixed in.

We all know that eating greens is good for us. At the same time, a lot of people don't take the time to include more green vegetables in their diets. There are a lot of reasons for this, but one of the biggest reasons is time constraints.

But with green smoothies, eating your greens becomes as simple as drinking something. It could not get any easier than that, and really, who doesn't have time to drink? You'll enjoy the flavor and you'll be getting a lot of excellent nutrients.

Breakfast is one of the best times to drink a green smoothie. Those minerals and vitamins will really get you moving in the morning.

You will be shocked at the amount of focus you will achieve. Not to mention the lack of fatigue! All that fiber doesn't hurt either right?

If you are at all familiar with green smoothies, you probably already know what goes in them. However, in case you aren't quite sure, I have included a few of the ingredients that are usually in them.

Some greens that you might use are: Spinach, Lettuce, Chard, Cale

You're probably all ready to give this a try if you already love these ingredients. But if they're making you wrinkle your nose in disgust, read on! If you love fruit, it gets a lot better.

It's a good idea to use fruits in addition to these green ingredients. There are two reasons for this: One, it masks the leafy flavors that you might not enjoy. Two, it adds another nutritious punch to the mix. You have so many different choices when it comes to fruit.

Some of the favorites are: Bananas, Strawberries, Mangoes and Blueberries

You can come up with all sorts of combinations that you and your entire family will enjoy. You may even want to get your kids involved in eating healthier.

Smoothies have such a delicious novelty that it shouldn't too hard to convince everyone. Green smoothies are only as good as their recipes, so it is a great idea to read some as a starting off point for developing your own.
