The Apple iPhone 3G - heralding a brave new world for mobile phones?

Unveiled earlier this month, the new Apple iPhone 3G is causing just as many waves as its predecessor did. But is it more than just a phone; is it in fact kicking off a whole new quantum leap in the business of mobile phones?
How is the iPhone any different?
Back in 2007, a mobile phone was unveiled that caused one of the largest ripples in the history of mobile phones. As you probably guessed, that device was the iPhone, hailed to be Apple's new killer device, something that would kick the behinds of all other mobile phones in the universe. Fans called it a touchscreen masterpiece, and the single greatest phone ever produced, but looked at objectively, was the iPhone actually the ground-breaking super-phone they say it is (or do we need to wait for the Apple iPhone 3G for that)? Was it , in fact, that different to other mobile phones?
To be fair to the iPhone, predecessor of the new Apple iPhone 3G, it was one of the best-looking mobile phones ever designed. It did look gorgeous, and it's not hard to see why people adore its looks. On top of that, of course, there is that massive touchscreen, making it the first in the world of mobile phones to give you multi-touch, basically letting you prod multiple places on the screen at once. Why was that cool? Cast your mind back to that 'pinchy-motion' on the iPhone (which you also have on the Apple iPhone 3G), that let you zoom in or out on photos. That's why multi-touch is great, and why in that respect, it beat other mobile phones. But the iPhone wasn't perfect; it was missing some things that ruined the whole experience, and the biggest of those things was 3G, the fast data technology that most mobile phones in Britain have. It really was a glaring omission!
But as of July 11th, there will be a new version of the iPhone... and this version, to let it fight it out with other mobile phones, DOES have 3G. Say hello to the brand new Apple iPhone 3G.
Apple iPhone 3G - setting the world of mobile phones alight
Now that the Apple iPhone 3G's been unveiled, we at last get a glimpse of how it will rise to the challenge thrown down by other mobile phones. And of course, with this new version, an iPhone finally gets 3G, meaning you get a fast data speed, without hunting for a hot spot. It can finally hold its own against other mobile phones on an equal level. Ok, granted, its camera remains, well, rubbish, but with the modifications made to the phone, and the new, discounted price, it's eminently clear that the Apple iPhone 3G has got what it takes to make the big boys in the business of mobile phones very worried, and hence force them to up their game, bringing about that brave new world for mobile phones!
