What My Great Grandmother Taught Me About Affiliate Marketing

My Great Grandmother, Mathilda, arrived in California in 1850 with her parents and three older brothers. She was only 17 years old. Her family was among the estimated 300,000 Americans and foreigners who came to the Western state in search of gold.

According to what my grandfather told my mother and my mother told me, Mathilda, almost single-handedly, discovered one of the richest gold mines in Sierra Nevada. My mother also told me that Mathilda engaged in a forbidden love affair with an older and married man, who subsequently fathered my great grandfather. But this is a different story altogether.

Mathilda, as you can imagine, was a hell of a woman. The unbelievable fortune she had made in 1852 in California was all lost by her grandson, my grandfather, in 1929 in New York, when the stock exchange crashed. Fortunately, she did not live to see it.

"Why are you telling me your family's history?" I can almost hear you asking me now, "What does your grandmother have to do with affiliate marketing?" You'll know soon, my friend. Don't lose your patience.

Hundreds of thousands of people went to California in search of gold. The few ones that found it and became incredibly rich were those who seized the opportunity when it presented itself to them; second, they had the courage to take risks in pursuit of their dreams; and third, they had both the knowledge and the tools to go about it. Mathilda was one of them. Her legacy is true to this day: "He (or, in her case, She) who dares - conquers."

This is it, my friend. Affiliate marketing is the Gold Rush of the beginning of the 21st century. Don't miss out on it. Grab the opportunity now, before it's too late. If you want to fulfill your dreams of gold, have courage, get yourself the knowledge and the tools, and go get it!

Internet Land is already very sophisticated and developed, but it is still an infant. It is today just as California was in the 1850's, packed with hidden treasures. But today you can dig it while sipping a drink in front of your computer, you don't need a pan and a shovel and you are spared the hard physical work. Only the gold is still the same glittering metal. Anybody can dig it out, you too.

Today is the day. You don't want to realize, 5 or 10 years from now, that you've missed the train. Always remember Mathilda: "He who dares - conquers."
